The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
This year there were nearly 1000 entries from 27 countries. Only 25% of the entries were certified organic.
The year’s best olive oils were unveiled at a press conference streamed live from New York. The results of the competition were followed by producers, importers, distributors, chefs, food service professionals and journalists all around the world.
The judges were composed of an all-star team of tasting professionals from 13 countries. Oliflix was designated a delicate blend with taste sensations of almond, leaf and golden apple. Suggested food pairings included: raw salmon, roasted chicken, mixed greens, steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes, biscuit cake, eggs and more!
